Dr. Michael Baylin

Dr. Michael Baylin is a Baltimore holistic and integrative dentist focused on the whole-body connection — from biological materials to TMJ and craniofacial pain.

Dr. Michael Baylin

Dr. Michael Baylin received his undergraduate education at Rutgers University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After graduation, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force.

Many practitioners have been influential in developing Dr. Baylin's whole body approach and integrative treatment philosophy: Dr. Baylin's father and mentor, Dr. George J. Baylin, whose dedication to the dental profession and devotion to his patients built the foundation for Dr. Baylin's passion for dentistry; Dr. Aelred Fonder, "The Dental Physician," whose research verified the profound effect malocclusion and dental stress have on overall health; Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, who eloquently explained the dentist's role in disease and dysfunction and provided an evaluation process (Autonomic Response Testing); Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, who developed the phenomenon of Direct Resonance; Dr. Dan Gole, who discovered the relationship of the teeth to specific muscle trigger points; Dr. Harold Gelb, who pioneered the treatment of headaches and temporomandibular joint disorders; Dr. John Witzig and Dr. John Mew, who introduced the European concept of functional orthodontics; Dr. Hal Huggins, who championed the modern movement to expose the dangers of mercury; and Dr. Weston Price, whose extensive research validated both the relationship of dental infections to chronic illness and the effects of refined foods on dental disease, growth, and development. Dr. Baylin studies regularly with national and international physicians and dentists to incorporate advances in health research into his practice and life.
